Paul Bunyan Communications has been granted a $17 million loan through the USDA’s Rural Utility Service broadband loan program. The funding award means that 4,000 homes and businesses in the Park Rapids area will have high-speed broadband access!

These broadband loan funds will allow us to build a fiber to the home broadband network in two new areas - rural areas surrounding Park Rapids and Trout Lake Township near Grand Rapids. The total loan package is $19.7 million, $17 million for the rural Park Rapids project, and $2.7 million for Trout Lake. We've been trying for several years to secure the funding that would allow us to deliver much-needed, state-of-the-art broadband to these areas. So needless to say, we are very excited to finally be able to get to do so!
